Higher Education Council Approves Introduction of Specialized and Modern Majors in Public and Private Jordanian Universities at the Beginning of the Upcoming Academic Year 2025–2026
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Sunday that the Higher Education Council, in its latest session chaired by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, decided to approve the introduction of a number of specialized and new academic programs at the levels of intermediate diploma, bachelor’s, higher diploma, master’s, and doctoral degrees. These programs meet the needs of the local, regional, and international labor market, in addition to a number of professional and applied majors in public and private Jordanian universities. This will take effect at the beginning of the upcoming academic year 2025–2026, provided they are granted special accreditation by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission before instruction begins. The newly approved majors are distributed across academic levels as follows:
Newly Introduced Majors at the Intermediate Diploma Level:

On the other hand, the council did not approve some of the new major proposals submitted by several universities and university colleges, which included saturated or stagnant majors, as well as majors that are highly duplicated or previously introduced at other universities, or those lacking qualified faculty members.
