Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr.Al Dabie, Participates in the Launch of the China Arab Cooperation Center for Science and Technology in the Field of Public Health in China

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mamoun Al- Dabie, participated in the launch event of the China-Arab Cooperation Center for Science and Technology in the Field of Public Health, which was held on the morning of Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the multifunctional conference hall of the First Affiliated Hospital of the College of Medicine at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China.

Dr.  Dabie participated alongside several prominent figures from China and Arab countries, including His Excellency Professor Ma Yanming, President of Zhejiang University and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; His Excellency Mr. He Wei, Deputy Governor of Zhejiang Province; as well as Her Excellency Professor Maha El-Rabbat, former Minister of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt; in addition to a number of ambassadors and health officials from various Arab countries.

In his speech at the launch ceremony, Dr.  Dabie expressed his deep appreciation to the Chinese government, Zhejiang University, and its First Affiliated Hospital for this initiative, which enhances cooperation between China and Arab countries in the field of public health. He emphasized that the establishment of this center represents an important milestone in developing the strategic partnership between the two sides and reflects the shared commitment to protecting human health through scientific and technological innovation.

Dr.  Dabie noted that Jordan, as an ancient civilization, shares with China the same vision of preserving Eastern wisdom and striving toward modern development. He also highlighted Jordan’s pioneering role in medical education and the provision of healthcare services, affirming that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has become a distinguished regional hub in this field. He added that Jordan looks forward to enhancing cooperation with China in several key areas, including:
Focusing on shared public health needs, particularly in disease prevention, management of chronic conditions, promoting the clinical application of research innovations, establishing a joint training system for clinical experts and healthcare managers, organizing academic and professional exchanges that contribute to building outstanding healthcare personnel, as well as developing a telemedicine platform and facilitating international patient referrals, with the aim of improving regional public health diagnosis and treatment.

Dr.  Dabie also emphasized that this initiative holds special significance as Jordan and China celebrate the 10th anniversary of the launch of their strategic partnership this year. He expressed his hope that the new cooperation center would contribute to deepening bilateral relations and supporting the building of a more prosperous joint Arab-Chinese community in the new era.

In conclusion, Dr. Mamoun Al- Dabie expressed his wishes for the center’s success, voicing his confidence that it will become a model for China-Arab cooperation in the public health sector.
