The Higher Education Council approves the numbers to be admitted under the Unified Admission List for the Bachelor’s and Intermediate Diploma levels for the academic year 2025-2026, in compliance with the admission capacities of the majors.

The Higher Education Council approves the numbers to be admitted under the Unified Admission List for the Bachelor’s and Intermediate Diploma levels for the academic year 2025-2026, in compliance with the admission capacities of the majors.

The Higher Education Council, in its recent session chaired by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, approved the numbers to be admitted in the regular (competitive) program for the Bachelor’s level in the majors of the nine official Jordanian universities, in addition to the World Islamic Sciences and Education University, for the academic year 2025-2026. It also approved the numbers to be admitted in the regular (competitive) program for the Intermediate Diploma level in community colleges in the official universities, in addition to a number of other governmental community colleges.

The Ministry added that the determination of these numbers was based on several criteria, the most important of which is full compliance with the admission capacity of each major, in addition to taking into consideration: the number recommended by the Board of Trustees of each university if the numbers are within the admission capacity, the number recommended by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, which took into account the special accreditation standards for each major, and finally, the recent decisions of the Higher Education Council stipulating a (60%) reduction in the determined admission numbers for stagnant and saturated majors, as well as continuing the implementation of the gradual timeline plan to reduce the number of admitted students in the Medicine and Dentistry majors in the official Jordanian universities, which was announced by the Council two years ago, in order to reach the maximum allowed number of admitted students according to the specific admission capacity of each major.

The number approved by the Higher Education Council for admission to the Bachelor’s level reached (38,131) male and female students, in addition to the number allocated for students benefiting from the Royal Makrama for the children of tribes in Badia schools and schools with special conditions, the number allocated for students holding foreign General Secondary School Certificates, and the number allocated for the children of Jordanian women married to non-Jordanians. With regard to the Intermediate Diploma level, the Higher Education Council approved the admission of (7,990) male and female students.

In addition, (1,286) male and female students will be admitted to direct admission majors in: the majors of the German Jordanian University, the Aeronautical Engineering major, and the majors of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Jordan, as well as the majors of the Faculty of Arts at Yarmouk University.

It is worth noting that the general admission policy for students in Jordanian universities allows official universities to admit Jordanian students in the parallel program, provided that the percentage of these students does not exceed (30%) of the number of students admitted in the regular program in each major, which the Higher Education Council has emphasized, in addition to what will be admitted from international students in the international program.
