The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research warns Jordanian students wishing to study outside Jordan and calls on them to abide by the instructions and conditions of studying in non-Jordanian universities

Today, Thursday, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research warned its students wishing to study outside Jordan against dealing with any entities or individuals not licensed by the Ministry who secure university admissions for studying abroad, whether through advertisements, links, or various pages on social media platforms.

The Ministry also asked its students to deal only with the accredited university service offices listed on the Ministry’s website www.mohe.gov.jo, in order to protect their rights. The Ministry follows up on any complaints it receives from students against licensed university service offices, adding that it will not tolerate any violations committed by any of these offices. In case it receives any complaint from any student, it will take all measures stipulated in the regulations and instructions of the Higher Education Student Service Offices, provided that the student attaches any supporting documents with the complaint.

The Ministry also warns its students against some individuals promoting, through social media, study in fake universities or others not recognized by the Ministry. It calls on all students wishing to study outside Jordan to ensure that the university they intend to join is recognized by the Jordanian Higher Education, as every student can view the list of recognized universities classified by country through the following link: http://rce.mohe.gov.jo/RecognizedUniversities

The Ministry further urged its students to ensure they meet the minimum requirement of the Jordanian General Secondary Education Certificate average, or its equivalent from Arab or foreign secondary school certificates, in addition to the required stream/field of the General Secondary Education Certificate for studying certain majors abroad. The regulations require that averages and streams/fields match what is stated in the general policy for student admission to Jordanian universities before joining a non-Jordanian university. Otherwise, the student’s degree will not be recognized, and they will not receive an equivalency certificate.

The Ministry added that for more details about averages and conditions of studying abroad, students can visit the following link: http://rce.mohe.gov.jo/
