The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mamoun Al-Debei, met with the Chinese Commercial Attaché at the Chinese Embassy in Amman, Mr. Lu Wenjun, in his office at the Ministry's headquarters.

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Chen Yiling, Attaché at the Chinese Embassy. During the meeting, they discussed reviving the idea of establishing a Chinese-Jordanian technical university funded by the Chinese side, in addition to in-kind support in the field of information technology and infrastructure for public Jordanian universities. They also followed up on the creation of two departments in the fields of telecommunications engineering and information technology at one of the public universities, and enhancing the partnership between the Ministry and Jordanian academic institutions on one hand, and Chinese companies on the other, especially in the fields of technology and innovation. Furthermore, they discussed the importance of developing training and qualification programs for Jordanian students through joint initiatives between Jordanian universities and Chinese companies, aimed at improving their technological capabilities and preparing them to enter local, regional, and global labor markets.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue coordination to explore new areas of cooperation and to develop joint educational and training programs aimed at enabling Jordanian students to benefit from modern technologies and enhance their capabilities in the fields of innovation and scientific research.
