The Global English Olympiad for Universities is a significant international event launched for the first time in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from December 5–7, 2024, under the theme National Heritage. The Ministry aimed for the event to reflect the size and quality of Jordan’s higher education institutions and leave a lasting impression on participants about Jordan’s educational and touristic appeal.

The Olympiad lasted for three days and included five main categories: Theatrical Performance, Project, English Proficiency Test, Community Service, and Teamwork.

Fifty-seven teams from 24 Jordanian universities participated, alongside teams from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Palestine, and Bahrain. To promote the event, the Ministry of Higher Education launched an extensive campaign through Jordanian embassies worldwide, inviting Arab and international universities to take part.

The judging panel consisted of 90 members from institutions such as the Queen Rania Academy, the British Council, AMIDEAST, the Royal Scientific Society, the Institute of Banking Studies, the National Center for Culture and Arts, and the United States Agency for International Development, alongside faculty from Jordanian universities.
