
The conclusion of the activities of the Global English Language Olympiad for Universities 2025 with Minister Mahafzah honoring the universities that achieved the top six positions in the global Olympiad.
Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, and in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mr. Shadi Masaadeh, the Director General of the Global English Language Olympiad for Universities, Dr. Majed Hamad, a number of presidents of public and private Jordanian universities, in addition to a number of Arab cultural attachés and advisers in Amman, the activities of the Global English Language Olympiad for Universities 2025 concluded today, Saturday. The Olympiad was launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with Masa International Testing Company two days ago, and the results were as follows:
- First place globally in the Global English Language Olympiad for Universities 2025 was achieved by Princess Sumaya University for Technology / Jordan, Team (Astra).
- Second place globally in the Global English Language Olympiad for Universities 2025 was achieved by Al-Hussein Technical University / Jordan, Team (Fi5ld).
- Third place globally in the Global English Language Olympiad for Universities 2025 was achieved by Palestine Polytechnic University, Team (Pal Amal).
- Fourth place globally in the Global English Language Olympiad for Universities 2025 was achieved by Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University / Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Team (The Green Falcons).
- Fifth place globally in the Global English Language Olympiad for Universities 2025 was achieved by Bukhara University / Uzbekistan, Team (Voices of Victory).
- Sixth place globally in the Global English Language Olympiad for Universities 2025 was achieved by Applied Science Private University / Jordan, Team (Athletes Stand United).
The Global English Language Olympiad for Universities is considered an important global event that was launched for the second consecutive year from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan during the period 18–20/12/2025 under the broad title of Sports. The Ministry sought to make it a major and distinctive event befitting Jordan and its higher education institutions, and to leave a distinctive impression in the minds of all participants about Jordan and its educational, tourism, and sports advantages. It is worth noting that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research chose sports as the main theme of this global event this year in honor of the efforts of the Al-Nashama National Team and the achievements it recently accomplished in the Arab Cup, in addition to qualifying for the World Cup.
It is worth noting that the activities of the Olympiad continued for three days and included five main tracks: the theatrical performance track, the project track, the English language test track, the local community service track, and the teamwork track.
Fifty-five (55) teams from twenty-eight (28) Jordanian higher education institutions participated in this Olympiad, in addition to participating teams from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Palestine, and Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launched a major promotional campaign through the embassies of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in various countries around the world to convey its message to all Arab and foreign universities and invite them to participate in this major global event.
As for the Olympiad judging panel, which consisted of ninety judges, it was formed of specialized and experienced members from the following entities: Queen Rania Academy, the British Council, Ernest & Young, the National Center for Culture and Arts, in addition to other entities and a number of faculty members from Jordanian universities.
